索尼的仿人机器人QRIO11月5日在英国登陆

A humanoid robot, described as the most advanced of its kind, sang, danced and played football as it made its UK debut today. Qrio, which is about the size of a three-year-old child, is at the forefront of developments in artificial intelligence, according to its Japanese maker Sony. The biped entertainment robot also showed off a smooth salsa dance in a star turn at west London's Best of Stuff exhibition. The two-day exhibition showcases the latest groundbreaking gadgets, gear and technology and features top brand names. Qrio, which stands for quest for curiosity, can also hold intelligent conversations with people and recognise faces. All of this is made possible with the latest engineering, two digital cameras for eyes and a series of sensors which help it to make fluid movements and judge distance, acceleration and angles. It has fingers, feet and an internal motion control which helps it to regain balance if it falls over. Walid Norris of Sony said: "Qrio shows the development of technology that can be transferred to other more commercial products in the future. "You can imagine products around the home becoming more reactive and understanding your moods better. "Qrio is at the forefront of the artificial intelligence industry and we are showing the best biped robot that exists." Techno-freaks had plenty to feast on including a Philips and Nike MP3 player which doubles as a personal trainer. The MP3Run boasts a skip-free player with wireless speed and distance sensor which tracks performance and can later be uploaded on to a computer to give feedback on time, distance and pace during a workout. Other gadgets included the Apple G5 and mini iPod and Philips Mira Vision TV, which turns into a mirror when not on, and a series of the latest home entertainment systems. Qrio, which has been in development since the mid-1990s, is a prototype and there are no plans to make it available for sale.
